Thanks for the reply, but that's the problem - the printer is already 
attached to a server queue [CUPS on a central machine], and I would 
prefer to NOT setup multiple machines pointing at the same physical 
printer [which bypasses the entire concept of a queue, does it not?].

I always thought CUPS was the 'server queue manager', .. so my 
question is how would a workstation 'subscribe' to the server queue, 
instead of creating another queue?
