A 10% duty cycle, where the machine runs flat-out for 1 minute, idles
for 9, and repeats will be much harder on a system than running
full-bore 24/7 - assuming the cooling system is designed to cope with
that (they all should be).  Each swing between temperature extremes
has the potential to induce stress fractures in the solder joints,
unseat heatsinks, and other foul things.
