10 years ago I worked with a cable TV installer in Kalamazoo. It was the 
early days of cable modems, but they had similar problems. If you split 
the signal evenly you lose too many decibels for either side to support 
a cable modem. They had a box of special splitters that would minimize 
the signal loss at one port at the expense of greater loss on the other 
ones. Unless things have improved dramatically, you might have problems 
with that many cable drops.
