Of course the reality is that most
PC users buy a PC with windoz
pre-installed.  It's not to say that
even a tiny fraction of them could
install windoz if they needed to
replace a hard drive, for example.

Much less install the new hard
drive.  People take their PC somewhere
to get fixed.  Linux people mostly install
their own software, and fix their own iron.
There are bound to be snags.
