How's Linux doing?

Taken at face value, Linux is not
doing well on the desktop, but very
well in many other areas.  Areas
with a lot of technical expertise
behind them.

I suppose none of this should be
terribly surprising, since corporations
have spent untold $billions on windoz
training over the last two decades,
thereby helping M$ solidify its monopoly
on the desktop.
