[GRLUG] NOT LINUX - dead PC

Three power outages in our corner of
GR in about 6 months. The last one
Thursday, bolt out of the blue. No
rain, wind, etc.

When the power came back, two
PCs were tuned on. One came up
fine, the other does nothing.

Happening before, I didn't expect
this, even while effectively pulling
the plug is not the recommended
way to shut down a PC.

I looked for some kind of circuit
breaker on the PS, on the off chance
that might have something to do
with it. Nothing.

So, next best guess is that something
happen to the PS. If so, what's the
most likely thing to go, and why?

It's an HP machine. Would any place
in the local area be likely to have a
replacement at a tolerable price?

It's a model a6570f. Quad core.
