[GRLUG] wifi connection drops under Ubuntu

I am running Kubuntu and I had issues with wifi when I installed it
last Nov. so I switched to wicd and have not looked back.  I dual boot
this laptop and wifi connects much better/faster with wicd than it
does running windows.
