You'd think, but I'm not so sure. I followed the directions here:
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/127

When I plug in my device, it doesn't auto mount. I tailed
/var/log/syslog, and it makes no mention of even trying to use autofs when
I plug in the device. It sees the device just fine, but autofs doesn't
kick in.

According to this: http://www.greenfly.org/tips/autofs.html I should see
stuff like this:

Jan 27 10:05:41 clover automount[31302]: attempting to mount entry
/var/autofs/removable/cdrom
Jan 27 10:05:41 clover automount[5729]: lookup(file): looking up cdrom
Jan 27 10:05:41 clover automount[5729]: lookup(file): cdrom ->
-fstype=iso9660,ro,sync,nodev,nosuid :/dev/cdrom
Jan 27 10:05:41 clover automount[5729]: parse(sun): expanded entry:
-fstype=iso9660,ro,sync,nodev,nosuid :/dev/cdrom

I don't get any of that. Any ideas?
