This is a redacted copy of an email I just received from a very high level person at one of our software vendors, who I turned on to Linux about 6 months ago. I've left the name out to preserve his privacy.
A nice message for a cold Monday morning..

Hi Bill

I hope all is well with you.

Just wanted to let you know…

I was at a customer site last week – configured to 80 terminal server users on a Windows 2008 64-bit server. I gave them a configuration which included a 146 GB C drive Raid 1 to handle all the documents and settings for the 80+ users. When I arrived their system administrator consultants configured the C drive with 40 GB. All the software including office was loaded. I explained the reason to have a larger C drive, they agreed, it should be expanded now not 2 years from now. A reload may have taken hours, maybe days.

I downloaded the desktop version Ubuntu 64-bit, pulled a drive out for the backup, booted to Ubuntu, expanded the partition in less than 30 seconds rebooted so Windows could do a chkdisk and pushed the mirror drive back in (Abracadabra!). Their system administrators were blown away! They took a Ubuntu disk with them.

I just wanted to thank you again.

Best Regards
