Cameron,

Can this computer see everything that is on the CD your burned after it
is booted into the old OS on the machine you are trying to install to? 
Frequently your issue is due to a format that your CD drive doesn't
understand or media that is not rated for the speed of your drive.  For
example, A couple of year old CD burner may not be able to use a 700 mb
CD-R/CD-RW format but can read a 650 mb format just fine (Unfortunately
most distros require a 700 mb disc).  Also check the speeds that your
media supports on the label and compare it to you drive and verify that
your media is compatible with your burner.  Hopefully, this will help
you out.
