As far as live cd's go, that is a good way to go. It all runs from 
memory after its booted. Makes for the quickest system I've seen in a 
while.

Makes me think about how it could be turned into an appliance for an 
instant on pc. What would be the requirements? 100 meg of flash mem the 
motherboard would boot from and a gig of ram to operate in.

I started a page on the wiki for distributions yesterday 
(http://wiki.grlug.org/index.php?title=Distributions), there is so much 
variety out there the problem is finding the tree in the forest. We can 
list the one's we like and work with and get tips going for them.
